ChatGPT training

ChatGPT training for business

Plenty of staff already use ChatGPT, often on a personal account and without any agreed rules. A ChatGPT training brings that back under your organisation's control: better prompts, reusable GPTs and projects for recurring work, and clarity on which data does and doesn't belong in it.

IN SHORT

  • In-company training using tasks from your team's own work.
  • From better prompts to custom GPTs and projects for recurring work.
  • Clear agreements on data, personal accounts and checking outcomes.

What do participants learn in a ChatGPT training, and how is the price arranged?

A ChatGPT training from Dave Willemstein is an in-company training for teams and professionals who work a lot with text, information and communication, using three to five tasks per role from their own work as practice material. Participants learn to write better prompts, capture recurring work in custom GPTs and projects, check outcomes, and handle data safely. The programme is agreed in a short intake, and the training is priced as a fixed fee confirmed in writing beforehand.

Is technical background needed for the ChatGPT training?

No. The ChatGPT training is intended for teams and professionals who work a lot with text, information and communication, and no technical background is needed for it.

Can the ChatGPT training be combined with Copilot?

Yes, if teams use both: the ChatGPT training and the Copilot training are then combined into a single programme.

Is the ChatGPT training also delivered in English?

Yes. The ChatGPT training is delivered at the client's location, in English or Dutch.

What will you learn?

A ChatGPT training with me isn’t about tricks or lists of a hundred prompts. It’s about the skills that keep working, even once the tool changes again next quarter. And it’s about your own work: I gather three to five tasks per role beforehand, and those become the practice material.

Participants learn to:

  • Write better prompts: supply role, context, an example and the format you want, and improve an answer by probing further. The background to this is in the knowledge-base article on prompt engineering.
  • Capture recurring work: using custom GPTs and projects, so you don’t have to give the same explanation every time.
  • Check outputs: ChatGPT writes convincingly, even when it’s wrong. Participants practise checking facts, sources and figures.
  • Work safely: which data doesn’t belong in a tool, the difference between a personal account and a business environment, and what the internal agreements are.
  • Choose: which tasks genuinely save time with ChatGPT, and which cost more in oversight than they save.

That distinction between personal and business use isn’t a detail. According to OpenAI itself, content from its consumer services can be used to train models, unless the user turns that off via the “Improve the model for everyone” setting. For the business plans, such as ChatGPT Business and ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI states on its enterprise privacy page that company data isn’t used for training by default (as of September 2026). What the different plans offer is covered in “ChatGPT for business” in the knowledge base.

Who is it for?

A ChatGPT training is intended for teams and professionals who work a lot with text, information and communication. Think policy staff, marketing and communications, sales, HR, legal departments, project leads and management support. No technical background is needed.

The training is a good fit when:

  • staff already use ChatGPT, but each in their own way and without any agreed rules;
  • you’ve bought, or are considering, a business subscription, and want it actually used;
  • you want to know which tasks suit ChatGPT before rolling it out more widely.

Does your organisation mainly run on Microsoft 365? Then a Copilot training makes more sense, since Copilot sits inside your existing apps and documents. If teams use both, we combine that into a single programme.

Want everyone in the organisation to first share a common understanding of what AI is and what the risks are? Start with an AI literacy training. The ChatGPT training builds on that.

Programme

I don’t work from a fixed programme. An in-company ChatGPT training might look like this, for example:

I deliver the training at your location, in English or Dutch. We agree the programme in a short intake. The training is priced as a fixed fee; you hear the amount beforehand and get it confirmed in writing. How I build up my prices is explained under pricing.

The most important part of the training happens afterwards: people need to be able to apply what they’ve practised in their own work the following week. That’s why I close with concrete agreements per role, and an owner within the team who follows up on usage. Other formats, such as a management introduction or one-to-one coaching, cover the rest of what I offer under AI workshops and training.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need a business ChatGPT subscription for the training?

Not necessarily, but it helps. With a business workspace, participants can practise with features such as shared GPTs and projects, within the organisation's own agreements. Without a business subscription, we work with practice material that contains no confidential data.

Can staff use their personal account for work?

That's a decision for your organisation to make, but it's worth knowing what it means. Under OpenAI's consumer services, conversations can be used to train models unless the user turns that off. Under the business plans, that doesn't happen by default. Set the choice down in your internal agreements, so it's clear for everyone.

Do participants also learn to build their own GPTs?

If that fits the goal, yes. A custom GPT is useful for tasks that come up often and need the same instructions and background every time. Building one isn't difficult; the hard part is deciding what goes in it and who keeps it up to date.

Does a ChatGPT training also work for other tools?

Largely, yes. Giving good instructions, checking outcomes, and knowing which data you don't share applies to any AI assistant. Only the specific features and settings differ by tool.
